Far Out!

Greeting card sent to Colin:
Colin,
According to the information we have on file, you have been known to sleep on the job. Spectacular! Sleep is important and we all should be getting paid for it!
With that being said, here are some facts about sleep:
- The record for the longest period without sleep is 18days, 21 hours, and forty minutes during a rocking chair marathon
- It is impossible to tell if someone is really awake without close medical supervision. People can take cat naps with their eyes open without them even knowing
- A new baby typically results in 400 to 750 hours less sleep for parents for the first year
- Anything less than five minutes to fall asleep at night means that you’re sleep deprived. The ideal is between 10-15 minutes
- No one knows if other species dream, but some have sleep cycles similar to humans
- Elephants sleep standing up during non-REM dream, but lie down during REM sleep.
- Experts say one of the most alluring sleep distractions, is the 24-hour availability of the internet.
Need a lift?
Take a nap on the job!
Keep Rockin’,
Chris
